Have you been told by a dentist that your wisdom teeth need to be removed? If so, then you've probably discussed the cost of this surgery - and the pain factor involved. And if you are like most people, the news didn't exactly make you jump for joy. But there is an alternative - and that is to become a volunteer in a dental pain study.

As a dental study volunteer, you will have your wisdom teeth removed at no cost to you by a board certified oral surgeon. Following the procedure you may be given an investigational pain medication. After the surgery, you will be carefully monitored by our experienced medical research staff to make sure that you are healing correctly and that your pain level does not become intolerable.
The studies usually last about 2-4 weeks with an average of 3 scheduled visits at one of our clinic locations over that time. If you are interested in participating in one of our dental studies and you meet the criteria listed below, please call us for a no cost screening and evaluation or

- Be a healthy candidate and have at least one of your bottom wisdom teeth under the skin or partially under the skin (some studies require two bottom wisdom teeth and up to four total; please inquire)
- Be at least 18 years old (some studies allow 16 year-olds; please inquire)
- Be willing to swallow tablets and capsules and take an IV in the arm for the study, if required
- Be willing to spend 1 or more nights in the clinic after wisdom tooth removal, depending on the study
